Breaking Rules || Budapest, HUNGARY

There's something about breaking rules that is sinfully thrilling.

Nights in Budapest

It puts you on your toes.

Your senses are heightened;

your nerves thump on the walls of your skin,
 desperately trying to feel its surroundings -
 alert for any hostilities.

Nerve-wracking.

Nights in Budapest

Yet it fills you with inexplicable rapture as every inch of you feels very alive.

It leaves vivid memories -

of thoughts, images, scents, and sounds..
and even the slightest touch
of the cold wind on your cheek.

Nights in Budapest

You're aware it's wrong, unacceptable,

or quite unexpected of you,
but that doesn't deny the fact
that everything else just feels right.

So, when given the chance,

you sometimes choose to exercise your so-called liberty
and indulge yourself with its wicked ecstasy.

Nights in Budapest

Today, Monika and her best friend, Imola, showed me around Budapest. We concluded the cold evening hanging out at the Liberty Bridge and enjoying the scenic view of the Danube. I didn't think it was dangerous, but it could be so I don't know if that was allowed. Also, to me it looked like a piece of art in a museum, forbidden to trample on. haha!

But they just sat there like it was a pretty common thing to do. No one else did it, though, which somehow left me to doubt.

Here's the thing about breaking rules though: it feels easier or less unacceptable when you do it with other people. Haha!

So, yeah. This wasn't even the worst of my rule-breaking record, and I've got two friends with me, so why would I pass up on making a memory on this beautiful bridge? :)

The evening was cold

yet wonderfully heartwarming.

It's just my first week here, and I'm already in love with this city.

<3

Thank you.

A month after or so, Rita and I met up just to hang around the city. We took a long walk to search for drinks and a place to just sit and talk. And then I remembered that lovely evening I spent with Monika and Imola at the Liberty Bridge. So we went there, but unfortunately, it was drizzling so we ended up staying somewhere else..

It would have been really nice, though! Fortunately, where we ended up taking shelter and having our round of post-work drinks at was just across the bridge and had a good view of it and the Danube. Still lovely. :)
