Today on my way home I observed a man walking down the street. I figured he was blind because apart from walking
cautiously, he was tapping a long stick at the direction of his path, as if
surveying his surroundings.
I decided to follow and walk slowly
behind him.
I didn't mean to stalk or creep him
out. Besides, he was going on the same path as I did.
I guess I was just fascinated by how
one can still walk around the world without the aid of sight. I know it IS possible,
but a personal encounter with it somewhat "pierces the heart and baffles
the mind" in a self-reflective kind of way.
I don't know what I'd do (and CAN do) without my eyes.
