"If Amélie chooses to live in a dream-world and remain an introverted young woman,
she has every right to mess up her life! "

Took a short trip to this little town which was made famous by the movie Amelie. I actually couldn't remember the exact scenes in the movie so I didn't have those "ah! this is where she did this" or "this is where they ate that" kind of moments, but I enjoyed the place as much, anyway. :)
It was pretty on its own and didn't have to have a movie feature to make it a must-visit when you're in Paris.

It was a place of all sorts of pretty things in cute shops owned by such nice and friendly locals. As expected, I spent most of my time just tinkering on them and contemplating whether I should buy them or not. And of course, although it took quite a while and a lot of self-control, the argument that I do not have the baggage space for them won. And so I just took photos, and some, I just left to my bad memory so I would forget what I should have just paid for. -_-
The only place I recognised from the movie was this cafe where Amelie worked.
Her face was plastered all over, even in the toilet! I guess it was such a hit and acclaimed internationally that it brings people from everywhere just to see it! The good thing is that it's open for dining and coffee so you can actually feel as if you're part of the movie! :)

I had a lovely time in Montmartre. Sadly, I didn't get the chance to take a lot of photographs but that's because I was too busy experiencing the place and enjoying my time there, interacting with people and preferring to see things with my own eyes rather than through lenses.
After being here and walking on its cobbled streets, I now understand how natural it was for Amelie to reimagine the reality in front of her and where she got her inspirations.
If also lived in such a town, I'd probably be just the same, making up stories and charming my way to life. :) (Not that I'm not doing that now. ahahah!)
